-The Bradenton-Sarasota Rose Society and the Sarasota County Parks and Recreation Department present a Rose Festival at Phillippi Estate Park at 5500 U.S. 41 S. in Sarasota from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. -The Manatee River Garden Club is holding its annual self-guided Garden Tour of five gardens in Bradenton, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance from Crowder Brothers Hardware stores in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch, or $20 at any of the houses on the day of the tour. SATURDAY and SUNDAY, MAY 11-12
-The Sarasota Succulent Society is planning two days of Mothers Day High Tea events on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12, with seatings at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day. High Tea tickets are $18 for members and $20 for guests for the three-course High Tea. The society is also holding its fourth annual Mothers Day Sale that weekend, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Admission is free. The plant sale and teas are held on the grounds of the Sarasota Succulent Society, 1310 38th St., at the corner of Myrtle and Cocoanut avenues in Sarasota.
