Local author Brenda Spalding will read her children's book "Hayden's Garden" at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 4010 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. The story is about a boy who wants to grow a vegetable garden. Free. Copies of the book are available for sale, and the author will sign them.
