WETHERINGTON BUILDING IN THE CONCESSION
Lee Wetherington Homes has broken ground on a model in The Concession, a gated golf-course community east of Lakewood Ranch.
The Verona model will feature a new floorplan, designed in-house, that is based on the company’s Murano model, “which swept every category in this year’s Parade of Homes,” said Peter Mason, vice-president of sales and marketing for Lee Wetherington Homes.
“We’ve added in some new features to appeal to this market segment and to blend the living areas together with larger open spaces.”
The Verona also will feature disappearing corners and large sliding-glass doors “to bring the outdoor spaces in, and enhance the Florida lifestyle and year-round entertaining,” Mason said.
Expected to be complete early next year, the single-story Verona will have 3,600 square feet, with three bedrooms and four bathrooms, plus a den, bonus room and a Florida basement. It also will have a large outdoor dining and living area and an entry portico.
The Concession, reached via State Road 70 or the eastern terminus of University Parkway, is a luxury gated community with one-half-acre to over-one-acre single-family estate home sites featuring lake and preserve views, all within 1,232 acres of pristine Old Florida land. The Concession is adjacent to the Concession Golf Club, which has a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course co-designed with Tony Jacklin.
RYLAND HOMES OPENS NEW PHASE IN OAKLEAF
Ryland Homes has opened a new section of houses in Oakleaf Hammock in Ellenton.
The houses will be priced from the $240,000s. Oakleaf Hammock is at 3709 70th Ave E., off Mendoza Road just east of Interstate 75.
Mike Finley, vice president of sales and marketing for Ryland Homes in the Tampa Bay region, said Ryland has introduced four additional floor plans to complement this new phase of lots on lakes and conservation areas.
The three-, four- and five-bedroom houses will range in size from 2,256 square feet of living space to 3,500 square feet, with two- and three-car garages. One- and two-story floor plans are available.
Ryland’s sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., noon to 6 on Sundays.

D.R. HORTON OPENS COMMUNITY
D.R. Horton’s Tampa/Sarasota division will have a grand opening at Riverview Meadows from noon to 4 p.m. today. The community of single-family homes is off U.S. 301 in Riverview, Hillsborough County.
Floor plans range from 1,844 to 3,576 square feet, priced from the $200,000s, with three to five bedrooms with options of one or two stories, media rooms and two-car garages.
