$22 MILLION OFFERING IN SANDERLING CLUB

Ohana has a companion at the top of the market. A 1.23-acre estate at 7712 Sanderling Road on Siesta Key has come on the market at $22 million through Peg Davant of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

That is the same price as Ohana, the Guy Peterson-designed estate on the north end of Longboat Key that was listed in December 2013 by Deborah Beacham of Michael Saunders & Co. It is still for sale.

The Sanderling house was designed by Peterson, too, in 1999. Known as Aquadisia, the estate has three residences, totaling eight bedrooms, eight full baths, with two gulf-front residences, “Aquadisia” and “The Point,” plus the pool house on Heron Lagoon.

CFAS GETS $10,000 DONATION

Center For Architecture Sarasota has received a donation of $10,000 from Mel and Gary Schmidt. Gary Schmidt, P.E., is senior vice president of Ardaman & Associates, an engineering firm with offices throughout Florida and Louisiana.

This donation will help fund the Center for Architecture Sarasota’s scholarship for the UF CityLab-Sarasota program, in addition to supporting the building fund to renovate the historic Scott Building at 265 S. Orange Ave. in Sarasota. The future home of CFAS will include a museum-quality exhibition space and a lecture hall.

“Mel and I feel the repurposing of such an important piece of our architectural history is important,” said Gary Schmidt.

NEAL’S SILVERLEAF OPENS EARLY

Neal Communities says “overwhelming interest” has compelled it to open Silverleaf, in Parrish, early.

The Lakewood Ranch-based home builder started staffing its model with an online sales consultant a week ago.

The grand opening is this weekend. “We have had a tremendous amount of inquiries, as well as visitors,” said Nicole Caldwell, director of sales.

Silverleaf is just south of U.S. 301, about three miles east of Interstate 75. More than 40 percent of the land is designated as open space. Silverleaf will have 713 homesites within distinct neighborhoods. Community amenities will include several parks with a central amenity center, a recreation center, pool and spa, fitness center, tennis courts, a children’s playground, dog parks and a play field.
