Front_nightA Siesta Key estate that was offered for sale at a record $22 million in mid-July on Zillow sold Monday for $11.85 million, according to county records.

The four-acre property, at 7712 Sanderling Road, was purchased by socialite and businessman Jeff Roberti, according to documents filed with the Sarasota County Clerk of Court.

The home, in the posh, guard-gated Sanderling Club, which is south of Stickney Point Road, was sold by Stacey Siegel, founder of the Everything But Water chain of swimwear stores.

The property contains 538 feet of Gulf of Mexico frontage, and a beach there is protected by so-called “rip-rap” rocks.

The main house, together with a pair of smaller houses, contain eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms in all.

Combined, they total 9,347 square feet.

The house was constructed in 1999 from a Guy Peterson design, and David Lowe did extensive interior design work for Siegel. Landscaping was done most recently by David W. Young.

Office2Peg Davant of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty marketed the property for Siegel.

At $11.85 million, the sale is among the top 10 of all-time sales in Sarasota. By comparison, the largest area sale was $18.84 million for a French-inspired residence on Bay Shore Road.

The Sanderling Road transaction also marks the latest in a string of activity on Siesta Key. Two recent residential sales there topped $10 million, records show.
