LONDON BAY HOMES IS BUILDING IN SPICE BAY

London Bay Homes is expanding its footprint in the Sarasota luxury home market with the purchase of four estate homesites in the gated Spice Bay community on Siesta Key.

The Naples and Sarasota home builder currently offers custom estate homes and luxury villas in Sarasota’s Founders Club, where the company purchased the remaining homesites in 2009, as well as The Lake Club in Lakewood Ranch. The company also builds homes on individual homesites.

“Spice Bay is an exciting project for our company,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay Homes, which was founded in 1990. “We specialize in custom architecture that captures the essence of the homesite, and in this case, Sarasota Bay will be the focal point. The homesites are about a half-acre each, so we have ample area to create unique home designs.”

Wilson expects the company’s bayfront homes to average 4,000 to 5,000 square feet, and the two non-bayfront homesites will accommodate 3,000- to 4,000-square-foot designs.

“Our designers are focusing on a classic, clean West Indies style for the Spice Bay homes,” Wilson said. “The design is timeless and works extremely well in waterfront settings.”

London Bay Homes uses the BEP Blue Barrier moisture barrier system that protects against mold issues and structural damage from moisture intrusion.

Construction on London Bay’s first Spice Bay home will begin in spring 2015, with a completion date estimated in late 2015. The Spice Bay neighborhood has 14 homesites.

Wilson said London Bay Homes plans to increase its presence in the Sarasota market by purchasing homesites for the “on your lot” program in other locations with proximity to the beaches and downtown.

“Sarasota has a vibrant real estate market, and the homebuyers here look for the kind of quality, luxury and customization we specialize in,” he said.

London Bay Homes builds custom and semi-custom homes and intimate village neighborhoods from Marco Island to Sarasota, priced from the $800,000s to more than $10 million. Information: 239-592-1400 or www.LondonBay.com.
