Neal Communities broke ground recently on two models at its newest neighborhood in Lakewood Ranch. Indigo will be Neal’s 30th community when it opens in May.

An active, adult-themed neighborhood just northeast of Central Park, Indigo will have 453 homes at completion.

“Indigo will open just in time for buyers looking for a new home in the same ideal location as Central Park,” said Pat Neal, CEO of Neal Communities. “We expect to sell the last of our 826 homes at Central Park this year, about 1.5 years ahead of initial estimates. Our first phase of Indigo will be a perfect replacement for the popular Piedmont Park section of Central Park, and in future phases, we will unveil our full lineup” of homes.

Two models from Neal’s Cruise series are underway in phase one of the new community. With 1,764 square feet of living space, the Victory model has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a den. The sales center will be located at this model.

The Liberty II model has 1,509 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Larger models will be unveiled in later phases.

Located at the intersection of Pope Road and 44th Avenue East, Indigo will be a gated, island-resort style community with maintenance-included homes and a recreation center with a lifestyle director.

Community amenities will include a large recreation center with a social activity director, a fitness center, pool and spa, grills, pickle ball and bocce ball courts.


Neal Signature Homes is hosting a grand opening for the exclusive Wildgrass community from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at 8117 Flax Drive in Sarasota.

This gated community has only 47 large homesites, some which are almost half an acre, on 36 acres in a natural setting.

Six floor plans range from 2,266 to 3,346 square feet. The community will have a Mediterranean theme with one- and two-story floor plans. The Costa Mesa, the largest plan and the decorated model, has four bedrooms and four bathrooms with a den, theater room, pool and spa.

NSH also is building a Costa Mesa feature home, available for purchase now. The move-in-ready home has a completion date of May. Wildgrass is three miles east of Interstate 75 off Clark Road.
