Designer showhouses showcase lifestyle trends

/

One reason that people tour designer showhouses is to observe and understand how national and regional lifestyle trends can be creatively and effectively incorporated into their own spaces. Two big private residences on St. Armands Key are on the Boys & Girls Clubs Designer Showhouse tour this year, providing the touring public plenty of reasons to go home and paint, wallpaper, buy new furniture, reconsider accessories and strive for better lighting. Or one could make the ultimate commitment and hire one of the showhouse designers to collaborate on a renovation project at your house.

AHTrendsAbout two dozen design professionals have transformed 29 indoor and outdoor spaces at a Mediterranean revival home and a contemporary residence.

Both houses are on the same block and both are for sale. Besides realizing a creative vision for each of the spaces, each designer has used spaces to demonstrate how national trends and those more relevant to Florida living can be used by homeowners with budgets both large and small. Everyone who visits these showhouses should return to their own abodes with useful ideas for better living.
