Longboat Key Garden Club tour is Saturday

The Longboat Key Garden Club will hold its 37th annual home and garden tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Homes on the tour include the Young Residence in Country Club Shores, the Thackray Home in Tangerine Bay condominium, the Pappas garden landscape on Sandhamn Place, the Perlman Home on Sandhamn Place and the Sprintz Home on Mistletoe Lane.

Tickets, $20, may be purchased at the homes today or are available at the UPS Store in the Center Shops, 5380 Gulf of Mexico Drive; Exit Art at Chart House, 203 GMD and the Center Shops, 5380 GMD; the Chamber of Commerce, 5570 GMD; Olive Oil Outpost, 401 Pine Ave., Anna Maria; Nola Tropical Winery, 466 John Ringling Blvd., St. Armands Circle; and Design 2000, 6840 GMD, Whitney Beach Plaza.

Harold Bubil

Recipient of the 2015 Bob Graham Architectural Awareness Award from the American Institute of Architects/Florida-Caribbean, Harold Bubil is real estate editor of the Herald-Tribune Media Group. Born in Newport, R.I., his family moved to Sarasota in 1958. Harold graduated from Sarasota High School in 1970 and the University of Florida in 1974 with a degree in journalism. For the Herald-Tribune, he writes and edits stories about residential real estate, architecture, green building and local development history. He also is a photographer and public speaker.
