The Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation reports that is Historic Homes Tour sold out all available tickets, and then some, on the March 3 tour day.
"It was our best year ever," said tour co-chair Ron McCarty.
McCarty is used to tourists traipsing through his house. He is curator of Ca' d'Zan, the John and Mable Ringling Mansion in Sarasota.
McCarty said all 1,200 tour booklets were sold, and that attendance exceeded that number.
Stops on the tour included the vitage Hickory Aveue houses, the American Foresquare house on Alameda Avenu that is being sold by Pat and Judy Ball, the Taykor-Whitfield house on Indian Beach at Bay Shore, and the elegant Arthur Day home on the bayfront section of Bay Shore.
