LOCAL ARCHITECT FEATURED IN NEW BOOK
DWY Landscape Architects is featured in a new "coffee table" book. "Tropical Gardens: Hidden Exotic Paradises," by Manuela Roth (Braun Publishing AG, 142 pages, $49.95), includes a coastal modern residential project by David W. Young, ASLA, in a four-page spread and the back cover.
The book includes tropical designs by renowned landscape architects from around the world, including projects in Thailand, Australia and the Bahamas.
"This volume presents ... thrillingly ingenious arrangements of plants and trees," states the German publisher. "These are interspersed by pavilions, statues, bridges and waterfalls that blend harmoniously with their enchanting surroundings."
ANNA MARIA CONDOS COME ON THE MARKET
Mainsail Lodging & Development is selling five of Mainsail Beach Inn's 12 condo units on Anna Maria Island, said Joe Collier, Mainsail's president.
Realtors Kevin and Sally Caroll of Michael Saunders & Co. are the listing agents.
The residences are full-ownership units, not fractional or time-share apartments, said Collier. The two- and three-bedroom homes have from 1,000 to 1,800 square feet of space, with prices starting at $525,000. Larger units sell for up to $985,000, Collier said.
The professionally decorated and furnished residences have en-suite bedrooms, and kitchens with GE stainless appliances, solid-surface counters, custom wood cabinetry and breakfast bars.
The Beach Inn has a heated pool and spa with gazebo and grill area, covered beach chairs and access to nearby water sports. Boaters can dock at the Mainsail Marina, a private, 50-slip facility accommodating vessels up to 50 feet. Slips are available for monthly or daily rentals.
The Mainsail Beach Inn provides an "Old Florida" lifestyle with grand staircase, high ceilings and fine finishes.
The Beach Inn resort provides property management for owners, including facilities and grounds, and expenses, including insurance requirements.
Mainsail also offers a fully managed rental program.
