CFAS HOLDS HOUSE TOUR SUNDAY
The Center for Architecture Sarasota (CFAS) will present a house tour and discussion on Anna Maria Island on Sunday afternoon.
The Seagrape House tour will begin at 5 p.m. at 743 North Shore Drive in Anna Maria.
Jody Beck and Ross Tisdale of Tampa-based Traction Architecture designed the Seagrape House and will discuss its inspiration, design and construction process.
“The Seagrape House is a multi-generational retreat on Anna Maria and the first LEED-Platinum residence on the island,” said CFAS publicist Michelle Young in a statement.
“Sitting 15 feet above sea level, the modern, wedge-shaped design and floor-to-ceiling windows on the western exposure offer unencumbered views of the Gulf of Mexico.
“Beck and Tisdale incorporated personal features into the design, along with unique details meant to provide a ‘sense of place’ by grounding family and friends to the home’s location.”
The house is designed to meet the strict standards of sustainability and performance set forth by the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
Admission is $10 for CFAS members and $15 for non-members. Lite bites and refreshments will be served.
