Center For Architecture Sarasota has received a donation of $10,000 from Mel </CF>and Gary Schmidt.
Gary Schmidt, P.E., is senior vice president of Ardaman & Associates, an engineering firm with offices throughout Florida and Louisiana.
This donation will help fund the Center for Architecture Sarasota’s scholarship for the UF CityLab-Sarasota program, in addition to supporting the building fund to renovate the historic Scott Building at 265 S. Orange Ave. in Sarasota. The future home of CFAS will include a museum-quality exhibition space and a lecture hall.
"Mel and I feel the repurposing of such an important piece of our architectural history is important,” said Gary Schmidt.
