The property was listed for sale for two years, most recently at $12.5 million. Joel Schemmel and Cheryl Loeffler of Premier Sotheby's International Realty represented the sellers.

It came on the market in spring 2013 at $14.9 million.

The buyers were represented by Chris Cogan of Cogan Realty.

Schemmel identified the buyers only as a local family. Title is held by Cross Street Real Estate Services LLC, which is managed by Williams Parker attorneys Patrick Ryskamp, Michael Wilson and William Seider, as trustee for The South Shore Drive Trust Agreement.

The documentary stamp tax totaled $63,000.

Scene of many fundraising events and host to a number of prominent politicians and business people, the property is known asĀ "Villa Solstice."

It measures 25,000 square feet under roof, with five bedrooms and seven baths, including its ground floor and terraces. It took five years to plan and build, and was completed in 2005.
