The Sarasota Orchestra Association is betting on the popularity of kitchens when the organization presents Symphony of Kitchens, a self-guided tour of eight exemplary kitchens in the Sarasota area — Friday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local celebrity chefs appear daily in selected kitchens. Among kitchens on the tour are two in Lakewood Ranch (including Terri Vitale's outdoor kitchen); two in University Park, the Bradenton home of Chef Derek Barnes of Derek's Culinary Casual restaurant, and the Lido Key kitchen of actress Carolyn Michel and Howard Millman.
Admission is $30 for all the homes, and tickets can be purchased at any one of the houses on the tour.

Proceeds of the Symphony of Kitchens tour benefit the Sarasota Orchestra and its Youth Orchestra Program.
